Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthesia to reshape the nose. It can address both aesthetic concerns (shape, size, symmetry) and functional issues (breathing difficulties, deviated septum). The procedure typically takes 2–3 hours, with most patients staying in Istanbul for 7–10 days post-operatively before flying home.
Most patients experience significant swelling and bruising for the first 1–2 weeks. A splint is typically worn for 7–10 days. The majority of visible swelling subsides within 4–6 weeks, though final results may take up to 12 months to fully develop as residual swelling resolves.
Rhinoplasty at UK private clinics typically costs between £6,000 and £10,000 (published prices range from £4,000 to £15,000), depending on the surgeon, clinic, and complexity of the procedure. The same procedure at JCI-accredited hospitals in Istanbul starts from £3,200. The price difference is largely driven by lower operating costs in Turkey.

What to know before you travel and after you return.
Patients typically fly home 7–10 days after surgery, subject to surgeon clearance. Ask your surgeon about compression stockings and moving regularly on the flight.
Operative notes, the discharge summary and any results are provided in English and forwarded to your UK GP on request. The treating hospital remains responsible for agreed follow-up. If you need urgent care at home, seek local medical help straight away. We can help coordinate communication with the hospital, but we do not provide post-operative medical care. You pay no coordination fee. We are paid by the hospital you are treated at, and we tell you this upfront. Deposits, payment schedules and refund terms are set by the hospital and confirmed in writing in your quote before you pay anything. Cancellation terms are in your coordination agreement — see the brokerage agreement.
Standard travel policies often exclude planned treatment and its complications, so check your cover and its exclusions before you travel.
